CSW69: GBV and Women in Sport Side Event

The Government of Zambia, UN Zambia, and the Racheal Kundananji Legacy Foundation are co-hosting the side event: Gender Based Violence in Women’s Sport during the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) session in New York. The event will focus on addressing violence against women and girls in sport by reflecting on lessons, highlighting resources, and calling for action on research, policy, and practice. Featuring key note addresses, a panel discussion, and engagement with professional athlete Racheal Kundananji.

Speakers at the event include representatives from the Zambian Government, UN, CEDAW, Global Observatory, Sports Equity Lab at Standford, Serengeti Care and Rachael Kundananji.

CSW69 marks the 30 year milestone since the adoption of the Beijing Platform of Action in 1995 that has had a significance role in mobilising for accelerated commitment and action for women`s rights and development including rights to and through sport.
