The European Sport Conference Working Group on Women and Sport (ESCWGWS) is elected to the executive council/board and becomes the European Group on Women and Sport (EWS) – the first continental group solely focused on advancing women and sport. All countries present agreed to collect information and data from their countries. EWS was officially confirmed as a free-standing body by the ESC in 1995.
