The European Union Work Plan for Sport 2017-2020 is published. Two areas of focus for the plan are good governance and gender equality, with two expert groups being formed on integrity and skills, and workforce development in sport. Previously, a ‘good governance’ expert group was established, which released a report titled Recommendations on Gender Equality in Sport in 2016. Within this report, one of the four areas outlined as needing to be considered in national and international strategies for action is ‘equal representation and gender sensitivity in decision making’.
